2.3.0: It Checks Its Own Work
Published
2.3.0 checks a plan before you approve it and reads each change back afterwards. It adds a search for where things are used, and runs ServiceNow’s Self-Test from Store readiness.
Added
- The plan card marks each field that may not save, and why. Limit: ACL scripts and conditions aren’t run.
- It also warns of duplicates, customisations and Store readiness issues, without stopping the plan.
- Each insert and update is read back, naming any value not kept. Limit: not deletes, journal or password fields.
- Run in my tab can make a change in the record’s form when the Table API can’t. Limit: one record, classic forms, no read-only fields; never ACLs, roles, users, groups, properties or schema.
- Page checks can take pictures of a page after a change. Limit: a few pages a message, with the tab in front.
- Instance Scan can check up to 10 changed records on your click. It saves its results on the instance. Limit: Write on and scan access; no findings isn’t proof.
- “Where is this used?” searches 27 places and names those it didn’t search. Limit: text matches; a field needs its table.
- “Why won’t this field save?” checks the field’s rules against your roles. Limit: not flows, workflows or internal access handlers.
- “What changed?” reads a record’s or table’s history. Limit: a day unless you ask, 30 at most, first rows only.
- It can read the JavaScript errors your open page has raised. Limit: not those from before it finished loading.
- Questions about the app you pick carry its files, tables and fields, never code or record data. Limit: outside changes can take hours to show.
- A plan step that writes a Flow Designer, Process Automation Designer or Virtual Agent table is refused and written up instead. Check it now reads a write-up’s fields on its instance.
- It keeps up to 100 notes per instance on this device, for later plans. Limit: you can’t view them yet.
- Store readiness runs ServiceNow’s Self-Test, and your AI can analyse each failure. Running it and saving your decisions write on your click, with no plan card. Limit: a vendor instance with the tool (ServiceNow asks for version 3.1.0 or later), admin and Write on.
- The update set file starts ticked: with each commit or publish, a script you approve saves installable XML in Git. With it on, a commit without a publish is tagged
x.y.z-rc.N. Limit: apps built on the instance. The push needs admin and goes to GitHub, or GitHub Enterprise on a “github” host name; other hosts get a download. - Update set names follow your format, set in Settings › Update sets. Limit: long descriptions are cut.
Changed
- The plan card lists each field’s value, and the run can’t write any other. Limit: long values show one line.
- A plan that ends without writing now says so.
- A lookup now reads on page by page: 20 records a page, or 100 when it names four fields or fewer.
- Store readiness shows a percentage, opens on its last result and marks checks your roles hide “Not run”.
- Web search covers only servicenow.com and github.com/ServiceNow.
- Publish is offered only where ServiceNow allows it.
- Paid-help links show only when you ask for paid help.
Fixed
- Revert works only on the instance the change was made on.
- The change log names deleted records, if it could read the name first.
- An app picked from the page’s offer stays picked.
Privacy and Permissions
- Page checks asks once for a new optional permission,
<all_urls>, which Chrome words “Read and change all your data on all websites”. Turning Page checks off removes it; without it, you click the toolbar icon once per tab, until the tab reloads. Updating asks for nothing. - Your AI provider, never TorchTiger, now gets which record or page is open, never its values. It also gets the picked app’s structure, analysed Self-Test failures with the files they name, and text read off pages, all redacted. Page pictures can’t be redacted, and the extension doesn’t keep them. The Self-Test Tool sends its results, and the decisions and notes you save, to ServiceNow’s partner portal, as always. What is sent
- Redaction finds phone numbers with any country code or in 14 national formats, and whole names. Limit: not UK National Insurance numbers or postcodes.
- The Terms and Privacy Policy open inside the popup, and Agree and continue accepts them.
2.2.1: Apps, Commit and Publish, Store Readiness
Published
It includes the unpublished 2.1.1 and 2.2.0.
Added
- Pick your app with Ctrl+K or the page’s offer, and pin apps in this browser. Limit: a plan can still name another scope.
- Store app changes go into your customisation. Limit: protected files and your company’s installed apps get a write-up.
- Commit to Git and publish to your app repository on your click. Limit: Write on, non-production, a Git credential, uploads allowed.
- Store readiness runs 15 rule checks in your browser, with no AI call. Limit: ServiceNow decides certification.
Changed
- The panel, popup and Settings use the TorchTiger look and bundled fonts.
- Pop-up messages stay longer, and screen readers announce them.
- The vault’s idle lock counts only real key use.
- The key form’s Copy passphrase button is gone.
Privacy and Permissions
- No new permissions or hosts; installs updated without a prompt.
- Links opened from a ServiceNow page no longer reveal your instance.
- Store readiness checks send nothing anywhere and never read password property values; Fix sends findings to your AI provider.
- Paid-help links to XpertApps, a paid service from TorchTiger’s maker, and Partner Finder carry no data or referrer.
2.1.0: The First Release as TorchTiger Engineer
Published
The first release under the TorchTiger Engineer name. Installs update in place, and it includes the unpublished 2.0.2 and 2.0.3.
Added
- Reloading a page reopens your chat and any unanswered approval card. Limit: once your key vault is unlocked.
- LICENSE and NOTICE ship in the package.
Changed
- Only Claude Console API keys are accepted; subscription tokens are refused. Limit: a saved token is caught when tested or used.
- Saved chats are compressed before encryption, and a lookup reads at most 20 records.
Fixed
- A plan’s writes run in the scope it names, and the panel says when it moves your Application Picker. Limit: check the card.
- Asked to switch application, it switches scope and update set, as the Application Picker does. Limit: needs Write on; no plan card.
- A plan written out in Write mode raises its approval card.
Privacy and Permissions
- Community sends TorchTiger nothing: no account, no sign-in, no TorchTiger server. Chats go from your browser to Anthropic, under your own key.
- A new permission,
alarms, re-locks your key, with no Chrome warning. The install warning stays “Read and change your data on all service-now.com sites and api.anthropic.com”.
